London Design Festival 2025
Discover our events and exhibitions as part of this year's London Design Festival, including a workshop and book signing with Bethan Laura Wood and a brand-new display by Marina Willer.
Events
Join designer Bethan Laura Wood in creating swaying laminated paper sculptures inspired by seaweed and kites, in this event as part of London Design Festival. This event will be followed by a book signing from 16:00 to 17:00, where Bethan will be signing copies of 'PLATFORM: Bethan Laura Wood', published by the Design Museum.
Join designers, architects, artists and researchers in a symposium that explores our creative relationship to non-human life and our responsibility to design for animals, environments and landscapes in order to help our planet thrive.
Join us in the museum garden for a celebration of fashion as an ecosystem with fashion brand Anciela as part of the London Design Festival 2025. PLATFORM is an annual display dedicated to showcasing contemporary design practice. The first display in a series presents the fascinating work of Bethan Laura Wood.

Discover Marina Willer's inspiring, expressive and playful sketchbooks made of colourful stickers in this free display in collaboration with Pith® and the London Design Festival.

This year's Design Researchers in Residence responded to the theme of ‘Artificial’, questioning the limits of human-centred design in a more-than-human climate crisis. Free entry.

Visit our garden and explore a vibrant collection of birdhouses by some of London’s most innovative designers. Responding to the challenge of reimagining the humble birdhouse, each design on display creates a space for our feathered friends to live in, and for humans to reflect upon.

Designer Maker User is an introduction to the museum’s collection, looking at the development of modern design through these three interconnected roles. Free entry.

A major exhibition bringing together art, science and radical thinking to ask how design can help our planet thrive by shifting its focus beyond human needs.
Location: Ground Level
Open from 20 September, a major exhibition on the legendary Blitz club night that transformed 1980s London style, and generated a creative scene that had an enormous impact on popular culture in the decade that followed – from fashion and music, to film, art and design.
