the Design Museum Cafe (Level G)
In need of a coffee fix or a quick snack before visiting our exhibitions? Discover our new cafe, where you can enjoy a variety of hot drinks, pastries, cookies, iced drinks, and more.
Please note that we are working behind the scenes to refurbish our shop space on Level G, as part of the museum's Transformation 2029 plan, ahead of its 40th birthday. Meanwhile, visitors can browse a pop-up shop near the cafe, and explore our high street shop just outside the museum.
the Design Kitchen (Level 2)
Surround yourself with floor-to-ceiling views overlooking the greenery of Holland Park. Designed by Matthew Williamson, the Design Kitchen’s interior offers a lounge-style setting, making it the perfect place to recharge and spend time with friends and family.
With a varied menu, including an indulgent afternoon tea, there is something to suit every mood. You can also treat yourself to a glass of premium English sparkling wine from the Design Museum’s exclusive partner, Nyetimber, or choose from our wide range of hot drinks, soft drinks, cocktails, and beers.
If you wish to book a table, please email thedesign.kitchen@designmuseum.org with the desired date and time of your visit (at least 24 hours in advance).

10:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday (last food orders at 16:15)
10:00 – 18:00 Friday to Sunday (last food orders at 17:15)
the Design Kitchen:
12:00 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday (last food orders at 16:15)
12:00 – 18:00 Friday to Sunday (last food orders at 17:15)
Please note that the Design Kitchen will be closed on 10 December 2026, and the museum will be fully closed to the public over Christmas on 24, 25 and 26 December, reopening on 27 December 2026.

Indulge yourself in our new delicious afternoon tea offer, created to accompany 'LAIKA presents Wildwood: The Exhibition'.
Inspired by the magical world of Wildwood, LAIKA’s newest stop-motion film, 'Worlds of LAIKA' afternoon tea celebrates the story of character Prue McKeel, who ventures into the mysterious wilderness to rescue her little brother after he is kidnapped by crows, in a heartening tale of imagination, adventure and craftsmanship.
