To visit, you will need to book a ticket in advance. Members enjoy free tickets which can be booked via an exclusive link shared via email. Please read the important information below ahead of your visit.

What's on?

The museum is currently open with access only to exhibitions, Electronic: From Kraftwerk to The Chemical Brothers, Beazley Designs of the Year and Margaret Calvert: Woman at Work.

Permanent display, Designer Maker User and other areas of the museum will reopen at a later stage.


Members have to book free tickets in advance of their visit. A link has been shared with you via email, but do not hesitate to contact should you have any issues.

Opening times and location

The Design Museum is located at 224-238 Kensington High Street, Kensington, London W8 6AG.

Open 10.00-18.00 Monday-Thursday and 10.00-21.00 Friday-Sunday.

Are the shop and cafe open?

A new exhibition shop is open, offering a range of books and music-inspired gifts. The Design Museum online shop is open, with orders available for home delivery and click&collect in store. The High Street Shop is open for those looking for design inspirations and souvenirs.

The cafe is not open, but free drinking water is available.

Sackler Library and Archive

Please note the museum's library and archive will be temporarily closed until further notice.

Getting to Kensington

The museum is outside the Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone. Find out about cycling tips, car parks and the closest bus and underground stations.
