Easter Camps

Design Camp for ages 7 to 10: Coding and Interactive Storytelling

In this introductory workshop, children will learn the basics of coding by writing interactive stories inspired by the imaginative worlds and style of film director Wes Anderson, and turning those stories into simple text‑based video games using the Twine coding engine.

Design Camp for ages 7 to 10: Stop Motion with Clay

Inspired by the fascinating stop motion films of director Wes Anderson, children will create characters, shape clay models, and animate their own stories.

Design Camp for ages 11 to 14: Set Design

Inspired by Wes Anderson’s stylised approach to scenery, young people will explore drawing, collage, and miniature model‑making as they learn how to bring stories from the page to the stage in this introduction to set design for theatre and performance.

Design Camp for ages 11 to 14: Stop Motion with Clay

This hands-on workshop for young people introduces the meticulous world of film director Wes Anderson through stop-motion animation, using clay to design puppets, build sets, and create original stories.

Design Camp for ages 7 to 10: Set Design

Inspired by Wes Anderson’s stylised approach to scenery, children will explore drawing, collage, and miniature model‑making as they learn how to bring stories from the page to the stage in this introduction to set design for theatre and performance.

Design Camp for ages 7 to 10: Drawing and Storytelling

Combining observational drawing with zine-making, and inspired by film director Wes Anderson’s visual storytelling, children will learn how to capture details through live sketching and build a visual narrative on a zine or concertina book.

Design Camp for ages 11 to 14: Digital Illustration

In this workshop led by illustrator Lauren Veevers, young people will learn the basics of digital illustration using Photoshop and explore principles of visual design to create their own artworks inspired by the museum’s architecture.

Design Camp for ages 11 to 14: Create a Shoe Prototype

Inspired by sneakers and objects from our upcoming exhibition 'NIGO: From Japan with Love', young designers will create a sculptural shoe prototype using recycled and found materials, exploring how ideas from culture and everyday objects can be transformed into original design outcomes.
