Design Museum Academy Young people Workshop

Design Camp: Digital Illustration for 11 to 14 year olds

A fun workshop to learn how to collage photographs and digital drawings to create hybrid objects, characters and settings inspired by museum objects with illustrator and animator Lauren Veevers.

What to expect

Using photo editing software and drawing tablets, participants will be guided through various ways of using the programme to bring together a variety of found imagery and drawn elements, bringing to life a weird and wonderful fantasy world.

They will learn how to use digital tools to cut out found imagery and create their own drawings, before piecing them together and layering multiple creations to make a dynamic and exciting finished piece.

The session includes an inspirational visit to our exhibition Enzo Mari curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist with Francesca Giacomelli as part of the workshop.

Please note:

– All equipment, materials and light refreshments will be provided for the duration of the session, but they must bring a packed lunch.

– Please let us know of any access needs, including neurodiversity, when booking a place for your child. If your child receives additional support in their formal education setting, you are welcome to bring a carer/additional adult at no cost, but we are unable to provide 1:1 support.
