Design Museum Academy Young People Workshop

Design Camp: Architectural Drawing for 11 to 14 year olds

Discover new ways to draw and learn more about buildings and cities through this workshop on architectural drawing.

What to expect

Participants will experiment with drawing in 3D and different media to create a set of large and small-scale drawings on paper exploring perspective, scale, colour, light and texture.

Drawings will be made of real and imagined buildings. Throughout the workshop, they will discover architecture and the work of architects from across the world and a range of cultures to inspire and help them design a building of their own.

Learning outcomes:

• Design and model-making skills

• How to make models of different sizes using different materials such as card and paper

• How to communicate through models and drawings

• How to develop ideas on paper into 3D

• Learn about architecture and cities from across the world
