As part of Bethan Laura Wood’s first solo museum show in our annual PLATFORM display, we are delighted to host the next in the Travelling Bluestocking Salon series. These Salons, inspired by the 18th-century Bluestockings Society – a feminist group celebrating the arts, philanthropy and learning – invite the audience to take a seat on Wood’s iconic kaleidoscopic carpets for very special conversations.
The discussion will be chaired by Libby Sellers, who co-curates the ongoing Salon series with Wood. Invited guest speakers to be announced.
Speakers
Bethan leads a multidisciplinary studio that explores materiality, artisan collaboration, and colour. Her site-specific work reflects local cultures, while questioning sustainability and our emotional connections to objects. Bethan has collaborated with brands such as Dior, Cassina, and Rosenthal, and exhibited globally with Nilufar Gallery. Her works are held in the permanent collections of NGV Australia, the V&A London, and SFMOMA. In 2025, her first solo museum show opened at the Design Museum as part of PLATFORM, a new series of annual displays dedicated to showcasing contemporary design practice.
Libby is a design historian, curator and writer. Her years as curator of London’s Design Museum, and then as founder-director of her own independent gallery, celebrated an unprecedented breadth of design through critically acclaimed exhibitions and activations. Now, with clients including Prada and Perrier Jouët, Thames & Hudson and Frieze Art Fair, Libby focusses on public speaking, writing and curation for other international galleries, brands, makers, publishers, and public institutions. Libby is co-founder of the Travelling Bluestockings Salons with Bethan Laura Wood.
