Nine Lives Tank Talk

Nine Lives tells the story of the design and occupation of nine workspaces each of which has been designed by an emerging Irish architect. These free drop-in talks and activities give insights into the installation and the social lives of contemporary Ireland, lives lived with, and among, architecture and design. These talks will be led by Nine Lives curator Emmett Scanlon (7 June) and photographer Noel Bowler (14 June).

This year’s London Festival of Architecture country of focus is Ireland, and a major initiative called New Horizon curated by Nathalie Weadick and Raymund Ryan has been commissioned by Irish Design 2015 to take place in Kings Cross London, and later in the year in Chicago and Shenzhen. The Design Museum will be hosting an installation which will present for the first time, in parallel, the stories of both the architectural design and the appropriation and use of these spaces. The architects featured in the Tank are A2, AP+E, Clancy Moore, GKMP, Ryan Kennihan, Hall McKnight, Steve Larkin, TAKA, Urban Agency and curated by Emmett Scanlon.
