Design Museum Academy Adult Workshop

Workshop: Textile Design Development

Learn the foundations of design development and build a portfolio of design concepts in paper and cloth inspired by the museum’s building and collection.

What to expect

Explore the basis of design development and idea generation in this full-day workshop led by designer Georgia Bosson, who specialises in creating textiles for architecture and interiors.

Inspired by the museum's iconic building and collection, you'll apply core drawing and paper-cutting skills to create a series of exploratory pieces and kickstart a new creative way of approaching drawing and design. You will then bring these ideas to life by creating textile samples using patchwork, appliqué and embroidery techniques.

This session is suitable for beginners and designers looking to gain new insights into their design process. By the end, you'll have a portfolio of fresh ideas, samples and in-depth knowledge of how to turn your ideas into surface design concepts.
