Learning Event for all ages

Playday: Miffy’s Birthday

Miffy is celebrating her birthday at the Design Museum! Join us for a festival of play, creativity and design for all ages and abilities.

What to expect

It’s Miffy’s birthday, and to celebrate her 70th anniversary year we’re putting on a day of creative activities for children. Taking inspiration from 'Miffy and the Artists', playful activities will introduce Miffy’s world as well as some of the artists and designers who inspired her creator, Dick Bruna, considered one of the most important Dutch designers.

Play is a way to engage with and understand the world around us. Playful drop-in activities will turn the museum into an immersive, creative space for experimentation, designing, building and hands-on creative play for all ages and abilities.

Stemming from their lived experiences as a queer Russian immigrant, Usva’s art reimagines and reclaims traditional Slavic folklore and patterns by bringing in elements of protest.
