Design Camp: Crochet Your Own Bag for 11 to 14 year olds

A hands-on workshop to learn how to crochet your own small cross-body bag and crochet pattern created by designer Peju Obasa.

What to expect

Participants will learn how to read and follow crochet patterns, practice stitches and basic sewing finishing techniques.

This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced. You will certainly enjoy making the bag and enjoy wearing it too.

– How to follow a crochet pattern

– How to use a crochet hook

– Basic sewing finishing technique

Peju Obasa

Obasa is a Womenswear designer specialising in knitwear and crochet. Her work takes influence from her vibrant Nigerian roots and old traditions in craftsmanship. She revives classic techniques turning them into unexpected pieces. The namesake womenswear and accessories label is rich in colour and texture, embracing printing and dyeing and tenacious knitting techniques to create innovative pieces. • All equipment, materials and light refreshments will be provided, but you’ll need to bring a packed lunch.

• Capacity is limited, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

• Please let us know of any access needs, including neurodiversity, when booking a place for your child. If your child receives additional support in their formal education setting, you are welcome to bring a carer/additional adult at no cost, but we are unable to provide 1:1 support.
