Learning Writing Workshop

Ardagh Young Creatives x Joly Licks

Are you aged 14 – 25 and curious about writing, poetry, spoken word, and fashion, costume or personal style? Come along to our exciting fashion and writing workshop with poet, performer and producer Joly Licks.

What to expect

Starting in our current exhibition, 'REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion', Joly Licks will take participants through three exercises to explore words and how they become poerty or slogans. Express your voice inspired by the dazzling clothes and fascinating people behind them.

This workshop will give all participants the chance to celebrate personal style, discuss dream costumes and embroider their own clothes (or fabric samples) with their own REBEL slogan. Reducing our impact on the climate is important, so if you have an item of clothing you’d like to work with, please bring it along to give it a new life.

This event is open to all 14 – 25 year olds who feel underrepresented in the design and creative worlds including those who have a disability or neurodivergence, are young carers (or have been), are care experienced (or have been), those accessing free school meals or pupil premium (or have in the past), and people of colour.

• No experience needed.

• All materials will be provided for the duration of the session, but if you have a favourite notebook and pen, please bring them to the session.

• The workshop includes a visit to our 'REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion' exhibition on the same day following the museum's opening hours.
