Educators CPD: Design in Primary DT

Explore how children can be empowered to use their creativity to reflect on the needs of others through user-centred design.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses use innovative ideas from the world of design and the inspiring context of the museum to address themes that matter to educators. Courses aim to provide practical, curriculum-linked ideas. They support teachers to build their professional networks, feed creativity and provide fresh perspectives.

What to expect

You will:

  • learn how to help students develop their research and communicate their ideas

  • work in a hands-on and experimental way to frame approaches to design

  • explore approaches to problem-solving that can translate into innovative teaching and learning methodologies for use back at your school or college

  • learn about the contemporary design context, industry and theory from cutting-edge specialists.

Who should attend

Ideal for those delivering Art and Design qualifications, especially GCSE, AS and A level Art and Design or Design and Technology, UAL Awarding Body at Levels 2, 3 and 4 and BTEC.

All levels of expertise and specialism are welcome.
