Workshops for schools
Using handling collections of contemporary design objects, students can interact with key designs through experiential learning.
These workshops support students to gain new perspectives on the role of designers and the impact of design in everyday life.
The workshops happen at the Design Museum and some topics are available remotely. Please check all details below.
For key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Creative briefs introduce the concept of user-centred design and encourage young people to develop design ideas that meet real needs. Workshops support the National Curriculum for Design and Technology and incorporate STEM subjects for Key Stage 3, as well as relevant KS4 and post-16 qualifications.

Capacity:
Capacity for each workshop: 30 students
Please note: Your group must meet the adult to pupil ratio of 1 adult per 10 students.
Our design workshops run Mondays to Fridays during term time only.
Staring at 10:30, 11:45 or 13:30 (1 hour each workshop)
Cost: £150 inclusive of the VAT per session (up to 30 students)

More Workshops
Focusing on the role of digital technology in the design and technology industries, these sessions combine analogue hands-on experiences with an introduction to designing through software. During the sessions, students will learn to use the software to create a design response to a user brief.
