Fractured Lands: The New York Times Magazine

A one-off, ad-free issue of The New York Times Magazine devoted to the last ten years in the Middle East.

Designed by art director Matt Willey, its dramatically austere and book-like feel with monochrome typography and bold chapter openers was an appropriate design for a single 40,000-word piece of journalism about the recent history of the Arab world by Scott Anderson.
