Costume design for The Favourite

Costume designer Sandy Powell made every garment in Oscar-winning period film The Favourite in under six weeks and on a shoestring budget, sourcing cheap materials such as second-hand jeans and old laser-cut leather.

Powell’s interpretation of eighteenth-century regalia, memorably worn by Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, was described as ‘punk rock’.
