Learning Exhibition Group Tour
Enzo Mari British Sign Language Tour
Join us for a group tour of highlights of the exhibition 'Enzo Mari curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist with Francesca Giacomelli' for D/deaf visitors who use British Sign Language and their companions, facilitated by Edward Richards.
Enzo Mari was one of the most significant designers of the 20th century. Based in Milan, he worked across art, graphics, furniture, products, exhibition-making and more for over 60 years. His life’s work is a provocation to raise self-awareness, communicate knowledge and democratise design. Mari’s practice was rooted in his uncompromising belief that design should be at the service of society, not the designer.
Mari was critical of excess production and consumption, he challenged dominant systems, attempting to grant greater autonomy to makers, and raise consciousness in users. Generations of designers have been inspired by Mari’s enduring and timeless work, which continues to resonate today.
This group tour will explore highlights of the exhibition, produced and presented by Triennale Milano, with the aim to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Mari's philosophy, practice and influence.
