Join guide Edward Richards for a tour of the highlights of Barbie®:The Exhibition, delivered in British Sign Language for d/Deaf visitors using BSL and their companions.

What to expect

Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Barbie® brand, the exhibition features 180 dolls alongside a selection of Dreamhouses, outfits, accessories and promotional materials that reflect changes in tastes, trends and expectations in wider society. Explore the design evolution and cultural impact of one of the world’s most famous dolls from 1959 to the present day.

Edward Richards

Richards studied Graphic Design at Camberwell College of Arts and since 2002 has enjoyed delivering British Sign Language tours in Museums and Galleries to the Deaf community. He has also given socio-documentary photography talks on artists including Robert Frank and Elton John’s ‘The Radical Eye’ exhibition at Tate Modern.
