What to expect

The exhibition Amy: Beyond the Stage explores the musical and youth culture influences that combined to inform Amy Winehouse’s unique image and iconic musical style.

Her sound and image were a reflection of a collage of 20th century cultural references to the creatives that inspired her, from American 60’s girl groups to contemporary British subcultural fashions.

In this tour, guide Andrew Mashigo will unpack the musical and stylistic references that Amy paid homage to, charting her career from an emerging teenage artist to an award-winning powerhouse.
