Nevermind the Bikes - Do We Need a Cycle Revolution?
Join a host of cyclists and designers at the Design Museum for an evening of debate as they ask whether we need a Cycle Revolution, or something else entirely?
What can you expect?
Relevant, responsive and hopefully provocative, this evening brings together designers, riders, activists and journalists to answer a simple question. Will their answers be what you expect?
Taken from across the world of cycling, each speaker tells us whether we need a Cycle Revolution and if not what they would like to see instead…
Starting at 19:00, expect a rapid-fire series of presentations and be prepared to have your say as well. There will also be time to grab a drink beforehand and see the exhibition.
Booking information
Tickets include entry to the Cycle Revolution exhibition before the talk begins. Doors will open at 18:15. The Designs of the Year and Cycle Revolution exhibitions will be open for ticket holders to view between 18.15 and 19:00, and will then close. The talk will start at 19:00 and will end around 20:30.

Will Butler Adams
Will is passionate about all things engineering. He has worked for Nissan, ICI, DuPont and Brompton and been involved in product development, R&D, project management and manufacturing excellence. He joined Brompton Bicycle in 2002, became a director in 2006 and took over as the MD in 2008.
Donnachadh McCarthy FRSA
Donnachadh McCarthy FRSA is the co-founder of Stop Killing Cyclists. This successful campaign group which now, was set up, following the killings of 6 cyclists in succession in 2013. The group is following the example of the 1970’s Dutch campaigners of staging Die-Ins. It is currently running the 10 by 2020 London Mayoral Safer Cycling Campaign.
Jon Marshall
Jon is the Co-Founder and Director at Map, a creative consultancy that specialises in industrial design. He has previously worked for Pentagram and Ross Lovegrove and prior to founding Map he was Studio Director at Barber Osgerby from 2003. Most recently, Jon has worked with inventive start-up BeeLine on the design of an intuitive cycle navigation device.
Vincent Stops
Vincent has been a councillor in Hackney for 14 years, two as the cabinet member for environment, transport and planning and for the last ten as the Chair of the Hackney Planning Committee. Vincent is a policy officer for London TravelWatch which represents transport users in London.
Jools Walker
Jools Walker (a.k.a Lady Velo) is a cycle-style blogger from East London. She started Velo-City-Girl when she bought her Pashley Princess in March 2010 after a 10-year absence from cycling. A familiar face on the London cycling scene, Jools also works for British cycling apparel company Vulpine, and is a Presenter on ITV’s The Cycle Show.
