Terms and Conditions: Youth Takeover Day

Thank you for expressing an interest in attending the Young Creatives Youth Takeover Day on Sunday 17 February 2019. Before you attend and take part in activity, we must ask you to read and adhere to the following:

Young Creatives Overview

This event is aimed at young people aged 14 years and above, including adults and the public. No experience of design is needed to take part in this event. The event aims to be a creative hub for young people and the public. It will focus on free facilitated drop-in and bookable activities throughout the afternoon 12:00 – 16:00.

This event has been planned and developed with the Design Museum’s Young Creatives group. It gives the public a chance to experience the projects and activities the group have taken part in over the year and also enables visitors to engage with the Young Creatives programme. Further information about Young Creatives will be available in the Creative workshop space on the day.

Social Media and Communication

The Young Creatives group will be documenting the details of the event through the Design Museum social media channels to showcase and share the programme with the museum's wider audience.

Photography and filming

here will be a professional photographer and film-maker capturing images during activities. Images and film will be used to promote future museum programmes online and in print including press, marketing and communications.

Photographs and film may be used on the Design Museum website at www.designmuseum.org.

If you do not wish to be captured on film or photo please inform the individual professionals as they will be identifiable by their lanyards.

If you or your young person is 13 years and under, please ensure to sign a consent form with the individual media professionals on the day.

Bookings and Participation

Participants aged 17 and under MUST ensure that they have sought permission from their parent/ legal guardian to attend if attending unaccompanied.

Participants must ensure safe and suitable arrangement for arrival and departure to and from the event have been made with their parent/legal guardian. It is expected that all participants will respect each other at all times, establishing good behaviour during activities.

Participation is subject to the discretion of the workshop leader and the museum reserves the right to change the programme if necessary.

Health & Safety

Event participants are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing at all times.

All activities will be delivered with due care and attention to safety. It is required that participants take appropriate care and attention when joining activities. Participants must notify staff should they have any concerns during activities.

For the purpose of supporting young people and to maximise their participation in the event, please inform the Design Museum if you feel its staff need to be notified of any health concerns, or learning support requirements, in advance of the day and prior to participation. We will do our best to support additional needs and the safety of all young people.

The museum does not take responsibility of individuals attending the event.
