What to expect

This workshop will teach you about mould making, casting, pigmentation, marbling, terrazzo and colour blocking through making a combination of coasters, chunky bead necklaces, earrings or rings of your choice.

Jesmonite is a fine concrete-like eco-resin that sets like stone originally known for its use as an interior and exterior architectural building material and sculptural material used by artists. It has more recently been adopted by artisans to create jewellery, homewares and furniture because of its ability to take on high colour and detailed texture.

The artist will take you through the process of mould making and casting using silicon and polypropylene to create different styles of terrazzo using techniques like colour blocking and marbling. With a focus on colour theory, we recommend that you think of the colours you wish to work with and be prepared for some elements of surprise.

By the end of the day, you will have a range of beautifully finished objects to gift or keep and be armed with all the knowledge needed to continue making at home.

The class is suitable for all levels including beginners.
