Defender - Replacing an Icon, the Design Story

See three full size models that the Land Rover Design Team used to realise the new Defender and join a talk led by Andy Wheel, Chief Designer, Exterior Design, at Land Rover.

What to expect

This programme of activity takes place this Friday at the Design museum in partnership with Jaguar Land Rover and explores how the Land Rover Design Team have reimagined the Defender for the modern world.

Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see three full size models that the Land Rover Design Team used to realise the new Defender alongside a display that explores the materials used in the new vehicle. At 16.30 Andy Wheel, Chief Designer, Exterior Design, at Land Rover will share the design story behind the new Defender in the museum’s central Atrium.

During his time at Land Rover, Andy has worked on significant vehicle programs. His current role of Chief Designer - Exterior Design, involves delivering all production exterior design work for Range Rover, Discovery and Defender badged vehicles.
