East to West: Creative Journeys across London

Join an evening of music and theatre performances programmed by Rich Mix, east London’s independent arts centre, for Emerge Festival 2019.

What to expect

London is in constant flux. Migration, urban regeneration, housing crisis and climate change are some of the major factors contributing to the social make-up of London. The city’s creative communities are regularly relocating, and their journeys have had a powerful effect on the formation of identities, narratives and histories in different parts of London.

On Saturday 28 September, Rich Mix, East London’s independent arts centre, has curated an evening of performances at the Design Museum as part of the inaugural Emerge Festival. The evening will feature two sets of electronica-infused jazz by Ishmael Ensemble, spoken word from East London collective Workinonit, spicy Masala Monologues from British Asian writers and performers, and DJ sets by grime artist Brackles.

This event is part of the Emerge Festival 2019.

Presented by Culture24.
