What to expect

Charlotte Perriand was a pioneer of modern leisure. From affordable weekend homes to travel agencies and ski resorts, her designs sought to make leisure accessible to the masses in the post-war era.

Starting with Perriand’s 1960s ski resort Les Arcs, this talk brings together leading architectural thinkers to explore the evolution of recreation and the architecture it generated: from Lina Bo Bardi’s SESC Pompéia (1977) to Yugoslavian modernist hotels and the Playboy Town House (1962).
