Create your own set of coloured candles using different waxes and dyes in this half-day workshop.

Led by interdisciplinary designers Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo, participants will be introduced to the craft of traditional hand-dipped candle making, using a range of dyes to create their own set of coloured candles to take home.

This workshop is suitable for beginners. All the materials used during the workshop will be provided.

Facilitators

Lola Lely

Lola Lely is an artist, designer and maker based in London. She practices craft in fresh and unexpected ways by linking contemporary practices and technology with age-old techniques. Her work has been exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Design Museum in London and at Art Basel in Switzerland.

Yesenia Thibault-Picazo

Yesenia Thibault-Picazo defines herself as a ‘Material Teller’, whose work explores the narrative potentials of materials. Her practice sits at the junction between craft practices and environmental concerns. She graduated with an MA in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins (2013) and initiated the research-based project ‘Craft in the Anthropocene’.
