Nomad Virtual Destination
Nomad is the traveling showcase for collectable design.
Created in 2016, Nomad is a response to the growing interest in collectable design and contemporary art among collectors, cultural institutions and beyond. Bringing together leading international galleries to create standout exhibitions in extraordinary architectural locations.
The Design Museum is proud to partner with Nomad and Phillips on the first Nomad Virtual Destination, in response to the challenges imposed by COVID-19.
Explore a virtual destination for private sales of design, with a selection inspired by Palais Bulles, a masterpiece of organic architecture in Théoule-sur-Mer, near Cannes.
In response to the special circumstances this year Phillips and Nomad have collaborated to create a digital experience on Phillips.com, where visitors will be able to explore 49 selected design works submitted by galleries worldwide, alongside editorial content, digital tours, and interviews.
The first online edition of Nomad features select works from galleries such as Gallery FUMI, Fornasetti, Thomsen Gallery, Patrick Seguin, and Yves Macaux.
Part of the proceeds of private sales made throughout this collaboration will be donated to the Design Museum.
Tim Marlow, Chief Executive and Director of the Design Museum said: “It is a privilege to be invited to curate the first edition of Nomad Virtual Destination. It was particularly exciting to be able to include some exquisite pieces by Charlotte Perriand, as the museum is about to announce a major project involving this giant of 20th century design for 2021.”
