Filming & Photography at the Design Museum
The Design Museum’s stunning architecture and Grade II listed roof is the perfect backdrop for TV and film productions, live broadcasts, photography and commercials.
All filming and photography quotes are bespoke and are dependent on proposed timings and crew size.
• Provided details about the content and promotion of the production including if there will be any drug use, violence, or stunt work
• Provided details about the role the Museum will be playing in the production including if it will be named or recognisable
• Completed and returned a confirmation form and location filming agreement
• Provided proof of public liability insurance to a value of £5,000,000
• Submitted completed risk assessments and method statements
• Shared remittance showing the complete payment of the filming hire fees
• Shared the names of all crew who will be attending site
• Booked in all deliveries and collections of equipment with our Commercial Hire & Events Team
• No equipment may be leant against walls, artwork or display cases
• The Events Team must be provided with a detailed plan of activity taking place on site at least 14 days before the filming takes place
• All equipment and containers must be lifted, not dragged along floors or downstairs.
• No naked flames are permitted within the Museum
• No haze is permitted within the Museum
• No helium balloons are permitted in the Museum
• Only low tack gaffer tape, such as Lemark brand or equivalent may be used in the building. Wherever possible, use white tape in all event spaces
• Loading Bay slots are available from 07:30 – 19:30. There is no onsite parking available, and there is no vehicle access permitted outside of these hours. Hours vary on Sundays and Bank Holidays, please discuss your requirements with your Event Manager

Please note: the Design Museum reserves the right to decline any filming or photography projects. The Design Museum also reserves the right to view and reject any footage taken within the Museum prior to its publication should the information provided by the booker be incorrect.
