Get into Furniture Design

Looking for a creative workshop this half-term? Led by Designer in Residence Stephanie Hornig, this course is for young people (aged 12 to 16 years) who are interested in designing and model-making. Mini-master classes will offer top tips and skills throughout the three days and provide insight in to Stephanie’s design practice.

Inspired by Stephanie’s work, participants will learn how to generate and collate ideas, how to develop designs through notational drawings, construction drawings and visualisations and testing prototypes through model-making.

Stephanie Hornig

Stephanie Hornig is an Austrian product designer. She studied in Milan and Berlin where she graduated from the University of Arts in 2012. Stephanie took part in numerous exhibitions across Europe, in 2010 her project Canvas won an Innovation Award from the German Textile and Fashion Industry Association, in 2013 she was selected for Design Parade 8 at Villa Noailles in Hyères, France. Stephanie worked as a designer for Patricia Urquiola and Barber & Osgerby where she developed furniture for internationally renowned brands. She has recently set up her own studio in London and produces objects that are inspired by everyday life and the way we interact with our surroundings.
