London School of Architecture Show and Tell: The Poetry of Structure

Tickets include entry to the Designs of the Year exhibition before the talk begins. Doors will open at 18:15. The Designs of the Year exhibition will be open for ticket holders to view between 18:15 and 19:00, and will then close. The talk will start at 19:00 and last for 1 hour 30 minutes.
Show and Tell asks leading figures to give an insight in to how they design. Exploring the potent relationship between space and structure, December welcomes Albert Williamson-Taylor of leading structural engineering firm AKT-II and Roddy Langmuir of architects and master planners Cullinan Studio.

Roddy is a Practice Leader at Cullinan Studio and has extensive experience of leading the design of buildings and masterplans, nationally and internationally. Roddy chairs design review panels for Architecture and Design Scotland. He lectures widely and in 2013 chaired juries for the RIBA Awards and the Cairngorm National Park Design Awards.
Albert founded AKT-II with Adams Kara Taylor with Hanif Kara in 1995. His work combines the practice-wide role of overseeing design and technical matters with leading a design group, allowing him to infuse the many projects with which he is involved with cutting edge technology. The practice works closely with leading firms like Foster and Partners, Eric Parry Architects, KPF Architects, Hamilton Associates, Zaha Hadid, Rafael Vinoly Architects. Past projects include the Dover Heritage Centre, Sackler Galleries, Royal Academy of Arts, the Compass Centre at Heathrow with Grimshaw and various bridges in the London Docklands.
Peter Buchanan is a London-based architecture writer and lecturer and former Deputy editor of the Architectural Review. He is best known for his series of critical essays for The Big Rethink published by The Architectural Review and for his books on architecture.
Will Hunter is the Founder and Director of the London School of Architecture. He trained as an architect at the Bartlett, UCL and at the Royal College of Art. He was previously the executive editor of The Architectural Review and editor of the monthly magazines of The Architects’ Journal and Building Design.
