Self-guided visits for learning groups
The Design Museum welcomes schools, colleges and universities for self-guided visits of one of the opening exhibitions. Here is everything you need to know to plan an inspiring self-guided visit to museum.
The Design Museum has five exhibitions available for self-guided visits - Designer Maker User, Beazley Designs of the Year and the upcoming Home Futures, David Adjaye: Making Memory and Stanley Kubrick exhibitions.
Designer Maker User is a free exhibition (bookable for learning groups) that tells the story of contemporary design. Entry times are available each hour from 10.00-16.00. This may take up to 60 minutes to see as a group.
Beazley Designs of the Year, Home Futures, David Adjaye: Making Memory and Stanley Kubrick are paid temporary exhibitions and we advise that it may take up to 60 minutes as a group. Entry times are offered every 30 minutes from 10.00 - 16.00.
Please allow 60 minutes to view each exhibition and choose your time slots carefully to prevent any clashes. You may wish to also factor in a break for your group if you are coming to see multiple exhibitions during your visit.
Free Display: For the first time in the museum’s history it will have a free permanent display of its collection: Designer Maker User tells the story of contemporary design through these three interconnected roles.

Self-guided visits to temporary exhibitions now cost £3 per student in primary, secondary, further education and college, and £5 for students in university and higher education. There is now no different fee for overseas students.
