Rémy Martin: The Centaur
In support of Charlotte Perriand: The Modern Life, French cognac brand Rémy Martin pay homage to French excellence and refined craftmanship with the Rémy Martin Mobile Sculpture, designed by artist and designer Charles Kaisin in collaboration with Atelier Thiery.
With a constant focus on craftsmanship and design, Rémy Martin has teamed up with designer Charles Kaisin to create a mesmeric and weightless work of art made out of 1724 gilded pieces to represent Rémy Martin’s iconic centaur and year of foundation.
The work brings together the talents and expertise of Rémy Martin, Atelier Thiery and Charles Kaisin in a celebration of teamwork and collaboration.
The sculpture will be displayed at the museum's Atrium until 28 June.
Since 1724, Rémy Martin has produced premium spirits that consistently appeal to the world’s most discerning connoisseurs. A profound love of the land, a continuity of family ownership and a passionate commitment to excellence has sustained Rémy Martin for nearly three centuries. As a result of its masterful production and generations of traditions in Cognac, Rémy Martin today produces Fine Champagne Cognac, including Rémy Martin® XO, Rémy Martin® Tercet, Rémy Martin 1738® and Rémy Martin® V.S.O.P.
Charles Kaisin is a Belgian designer and artist whose work often touches on the themes of geometry in movement and the transformation of recycled, everyday materials into contemporary design objects. Atelier Thiery is a family-run gilding studio based in Paris, responsible for the restoration and beautification of some of the world’s most celebrated venues and works of art. The unique beauty of their goldwork results from their artisanal approach, which relies on traditional gilding techniques passed down from generation to generation. Resplendent, shimmering, weightless, the piece commissioned for Rémy Martin XO x Atelier Thiery is a poetic celebration of the precious links between cognac and gold.
