Momentum: A Design Narrative by Istituto Marangoni London

Visit to discover thirteen Bachelor’s and Master’s graduate projects selected across the fields of product, jewellery and interior design.

The students have worked collaboratively throughout their degrees, bringing insights from their diverse backgrounds to a global round table. These projects present design solutions for modern society and forge new narratives within the creative industry.

Each project demonstrates a unique perspective on shared experiences and how the next generation engages responsibly with the future of design – from community wellbeing and social justice to sustainability measures guiding their choice of materials and practices.

• Akbota Baisalbayeva reimagines the traditional hospice in ‘Evergreen’ which challenges societal fears surrounding death, and encourages us to perceive it in a more normalised and accepting light.
• Aleksandra Slahova's 'Anispace: Personalised Anime Community Platform' is a comprehensive platform, for anime enthusiasts offering a unified space to watch anime, read manga.
• Ananya Khanna's 'The Stage Savants’, suggests integrating a theatre and boutique hotel within the Grade II listed London Road Fire Station in Manchester and envisions the redesign as a holistic cultural destination.
• Anastasiia Kuleshova’s ‘Tower of Taste’ is a sharing food set that includes a fondue, grill, open fire and hot pot. The idea is to create an interactive and inclusive experience, using prevalent cooking styles from different cultures to bring diverse communities together.
• Chang Haozhe ‘Fesilience’ celebrates female resilience opting for abstract forms, contours and textures in place of conventional symbols.
• Ekaterina Ermakova's 'Ladywell Baths: rethought' is a repurposed design for a wellness community escape space in London.
• Emilia Tombolesi's ‘Picasso’ toy set is designed to engage neurodivergent children to express themselves through creative play.
• Lia Sabbagh aims to challenge societal norms regarding women's roles in Saudi Arabia by establishing an all-women’s space with functional aesthetics in a pre-existing building in her project 'SOLNEX'.
• Neha Shetty's 'Bridging Worlds' is a is an eco-friendly pavilion designed as a cultural exchange hub between the African heritage and the British Museum.
• Santiago Martinez Mercado's 'Umando' is all about delivering an experience of fulfilment and self-actualisation to whoever interacts with the visuals.
• Sara Minkara creates typographic animations in ‘Type N’ Motion', a video which transforms words into visual journeys.
• Thomas Stevens' 'RETREAT OF REVIVAL' is a proposed a new spatial brand experience for Aesop within the hybrid hospitality sector.
• Yinghua Zhang's 'Hikari' is a self-assembled modular light product designed with a focus on sustainability, enlightening the future of design.
