Direct Vision Standard

Most of today’s heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are considered unfit for urban environments, with poor direct lines of vision and large blind spots.

To address this, Transport for London worked with Loughborough University to develop the world’s first Direct Vision Standard (DVS), which rates HGVs from zero to five stars.

Due to the success of the guidelines, DVS is being included in the European Union’s regulations for vehicle design and safety.
