It's Nice That on Disruption

It’s Nice That guest-curate an evening of talks on disruption with designers Miriam Elia, Alex Chinneck, Hefin Jones and Visual Editions who have all disrupted the status quo — from publishing to storytelling, architecture and space exploration. Join us to find out what drives and influences their work.

Miriam Elia is a Visual Artist and Sony-nominated Comedian. Her diverse work uses satirical humour and parody to comment on the conventions of both the art world and society at large. She is in an ongoing legal battle over copyright with Ladybird Books for her project ‘We go to the gallery’.

Alex Chinneck is a London-based artist and designer who inverts familiar architectural scenery and narratives. His architectural disruptions encourage audiences to re-appreciate buildings and moments of their daily environments which would usually slip unobserved.

Visual Editions is a London-based book publisher, co-founded by Anna Gerber and Britt Iversen, who publish books that tell stories in a visual way, making for new kinds of reading experiences.

Hefin Jones is founder of The Welsh Space Campaign, which aims to launch ordinary Welsh people into outer space by finding a cosmic context for Welsh culture, skills and traditions. Hefin’s mission is a tribute to the potential of participation as a mass cultural force.
