Before you visit

We want all our visitors to have the best possible experience in the museum. Please book ahead of your visit, and ensure that you bring at least 1 adult per 10 students – note that we offer complimentary Teacher tickets to facilitate this, and if you do not fulfil this ratio admission will be refused.

Teachers, TAs, tutors and parents/guardians are to remain responsible for behaviour management and safeguarding, and should accompany students at all times in the building. Our staff are here to help all visitors stay safe and comfortable, so please listen to them.

Ahead of your visit, please remind students of the behaviour we expect in a museum:

• Objects and exhibits in the galleries are not to be touched unless the label or a Visitor Experience Assistant invites you to do so.

• The museum is a place for walking, not running – feel free to run outside in Holland Park.

• We welcome discussion, but not shouting.

• Sketching is encouraged, but please do not bring any wet materials into the galleries.

• No food or drink (unless in a closed container e.g. a bottle) is allowed in the galleries at any time.

• A maximum of 10 students are allowed in the Design Museum Shop at a time, and they must be supervised by at least one teacher.

What's On

The museum explores the past, present and future of design through a programme of temporary exhibitions and pop-ups.
