BuffaloGrid distributes electricity, one phone charge at a time, providing mobile power, internet and services to customers in North India.

At its core is a luggable battery, kept topped up either by agents who travel village to village, or using solar panels. Customers purchase power by sending a premium-rate text message and – using Internet of Things technology – a USB charging port is unlocked for one full charge.
