What to expect

Women account for a significant percentage of the sneaker market and yet design and marketing often draw an arbitrary line between men and women as consumers with women still struggling to find major releases in their sizes.

They are underrepresented in the industry as designers and are often overlooked as serious collectors but an increasing number of women are making their presence felt in sneaker culture and creating initiatives to ensure that the momentum continues.

In this panel discussion, sneaker strategist Jazerai Allen Lord, designer Alexander Hackett, and collector Shernay La Touche will discuss the significant contribution and growing influence of women in all sectors.

Challenging the perception of sneaker culture as a boy’s club, they share their experiences of participating in the industry both as creatives and as sneakerheads and provide insight into the many entry pathways.
