Speakers

Glenn Adamson

Glenn Adamson is a curator, writer and historian based in New York. He has been Director of the Museum of Arts and Design, Head of Research at the V&A and Curator at the Chipstone Foundation in Milwaukee. Author of 'Thinking Through Craft', 'The Craft Reader', 'Postmodernism: Style and Subversion' (with Jane Pavitt), 'The Invention of Craft', and his most recent book, 'Craft: An American History' (Bloomsbury, 2021). Glenn also co-hosts the online interview series 'Design in Dialogue'.

Ilse Crawford

Ilse Crawford is a designer, academic and creative director with a mission to put human needs and desires at the centre of her work. As founder of Studioilse, along with a multidisciplinary team, she brings her philosophy to life. Prior to Studioilse, she was the founding editor of Elle Decoration UK and wellbeing magazine BARE. Crawford was awarded an MBE for services to Interior Design and is a leading advocate of systemic wellbeing design, having founded the Man and Wellbeing department at Design Academy Eindhoven.

Justin McGuirk

Justin McGuirk is a writer and curator based in London. Chief curator of 'Charlotte Perriand: A Modern Life' exhibition at the Design Museum, Justin has been the director of Strelka Press, design critic of The Guardian, and editor of Icon magazine. In 2012, he was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture for an exhibition curated with Urban Think Tank. His book 'Radical Cities: Across Latin America in Search of a New Architecture' (2014) is published by Verso.
