The Design Museum’s new programme Young Creatives is for young people aged 14-19 years. Young Creatives will meet and work alongside designers on projects, be inspired to develop new interests and skills and explore their creative ambitions. No experience of design is needed to take part.

What's on offer?

Young Creatives is open to any young person interested in working as a team and developing their skills through design. No experience of design is needed to take part.

The programme is open to young people in the Royal Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Ealing, Brent, Harrow, Barnet, Camden, City of London, and is supported by John Lyon’s Charity.

Young creatives will meet on a regular basis to participate in free short courses, regular meetings and weekend masterclasses. The group will also have a chance to work with event curators to design a public event at the Design Museum.

Become a Young Creative

Throughout the year young creatives can take part in 2D and 3D design and make projects, join in conversations and workshops with designers and members of the museum team and gain industry and career insights. This year, the programme will culminate in an end of year showcase and public event designed by the group and supported by event curators at the Design Museum.

Young Creatives will meet on the first Thursday evening and third Sunday of every month. Young Creatives take part with the commitment to participate in all activities as a team, helping to develop ideas together and to work with specialists to shape the programme as it develops.
