Learn the ancient technique of Shibori Indigo dyeing with designer Lola Lely in this half-day workshop.

What to expect

Originating in Japan in the 8th century, Shibori indigo dyeing uses dye-resist techniques and folding to create patterned textiles. In this hands-on workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn this ancient technique to dye their own fabrics.

Participants will also have access to this year’s Beazley Designs of the Year exhibition.

No prior knowledge or experience of dyeing is required.

Lola Lely

Lola Lely is an artist, designer and maker based in London. She practices craft in fresh and unexpected ways by linking contemporary practices and technology with age-old techniques. Her work has been exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Design Museum in London and at Art Basel in Switzerland.
