Design Camp: Surrealist Digital Collage

Join a fun hands-on workshop to learn how to collage images, photographs and your own digital drawings can create hybrid objects, characters and settings inspired by our Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – Today exhibition.

Suitable for young people at secondary school, aged 11–14.

What to expect

Using Photoshop and drawing tablets, you will be guided through various ways of using the programme to bring together a variety of found imagery and drawn elements, bringing to life a weird and wonderful fantasy world.

You will learn how to use Photoshop for cutting out found imagery and creating your own drawings, before piecing them together and layering multiple creations to make an exciting finished piece.

The workshop includes a visit to our exhibition Objects of Desire: Surrealism and Design 1924 – Today.

Please note that all equipment, materials and light refreshments will be provided, but you must bring a packed lunch.

Lauren Veevers

Veevers is a freelance illustrator, animator and arts educator. Working with different techniques, her work spans 3D model making and textiles for clients including The Women’s Institute and the Museum of London. Veevers also runs creative workshops for people of all ages, working with organisations to improve access to the arts.
