Create and Make

Each month, and during school holidays, the Design Museum holds a drop-in activity for families inspired by the museum and its exhibitions. These informal sessions focus on light-touch design and making activities for families with children aged 5–11. Come along and become a designer!

Summer Create and Make

Using simple paper-making techniques, draw and make your own spinning animation. Please note that this event is not taking place on August Bank Holiday Monday.

Create & Make: Badge-Making

Join the Design Museum this Easter weekend to make your own badges in this free, drop-in activity. Flex your inner illustration skills to draw, colour and press your own unique badge.

Autumn Sunday Create and Make: Crafting a mission to Mars

Inspired by the Moving to Mars exhibition, make your own rockets, space jackets and miniature space ship to take you to Mars.

October Half Term: Building a Spaceship

This half term, help create a life size spaceship model to take you to Mars! Build the control panels to help steer the ship and places to eat, sleep, relax and work.

Winter Sunday Create and Make: Festive Crafting

Make your own decorations and wrapping paper to paint, print and stitch your way into the festive winter holidays.

Further Information

Suitable for families with children aged 5-11 years. FREE, drop-in
Parents/guardians must remain with their children at all times.
Booking essential for groups of 6 or more children.
