What to expect

The poster is one of our richest tools of communication, used in advertising, political protest and as an art form in its own right. In this one day introductory workshop, graphic designer Anthony Burrill shares his advice and insights into graphic design with a focus on the poster.

During the workshop, participants will create their own poster and other graphic design projects. Over the course of the day, the workshop shall introduce a range of design methods and techniques including tools for creating effective slogans, different forms of typology, stencilling and more.

Anthony Burrill

Anthony Burrill is a graphic artist, printmaker and designer whose work is held in the permanent collections across the world. He is perhaps best known for his typographic, text-based compositions, including the now-famous “Work Hard and Be Nice to People”, which has become a mantra for the design community and beyond.
