Cycle Culture Tour

Take a Cycle Culture tour with Artouride and discover some of the gems of London’s design-led cycling scene

Tour dates

11:00 - 15:00
Sunday 1 May 2016

Inspired by the Cycle Revolution exhibition, the Cycle Culture tour explores some of the city’s best loved independent cycle stores and cafés, from Brooks and Rapha to Velorution and Look Mum No Hands.

Starting as part of a small group at the Design Museum, you’ll get on a Brompton folding bike and be guided by an experienced cyclist through Borough Market, Covent Garden, Fitzrovia to Old Street, visiting cycling stores and cafés along the route, where you can find out about their individual histories and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how they work. Store visits include Brompton Junction, Brook’s B 1866, Rapha, Velorution, Look Mum No Hands and Tokyo Bikes.

Your guide takes the hassle out of navigating the city and can point out some of the art and design highlights as you pedal, as well as giving you a map of the route to take home. The tour is mostly along cycle paths and minor roads but at times is on more busy roads, so a level of cycle confidence is required.

The tour starts and ends at the Museum and will last 3-3.5 hours. Groups are limited to 10 per tour. Please arrive at the museum 10 minutes before the tour starts to collect your ticket.
