Margaret Cubbage, curator, will introduce each of the designers who have spent four months developing their designs. The exhibition challenges our perception of home with a new range of furniture, explores the integration of drones in the urban infrastructure, proposes a new identity for a socially networked future and suggests the repurposing of a former coal mine for space exploration.

The Designers in Residence programme at the Design Museum is a core part of the museums activity, and exists to provide practising designers, across any discipline, time and space away from their regular environment to reflect, research and consider new ways of developing their practice.

All exhibitions will be open on the evening so if you haven’t had chance to see Designs of the Year or Life on Foot yet, or you would like to see them again this is the perfect opportunity to take them in.
