Are you walking our way to celebrate the London Festival of Architecture this year? Learn about London past, present, future and futuristic in a series of short drop-in talks. Be inspired by the Richard Rogers + Partners – From the House to the City exhibition and make your contribution to a model utopian London cityscape. Purge yourself of your London secrets in the Design Overtime confessional, re-enact the creation of the universe with urban designer Kumiko Shimizu, or just enjoy a drink, listen to some music and gaze at the view.

This is also a chance to see Tim Walker and Industrial Facility exhibitions until 10pm.

Ricky Burdett, Professor in Architecture and Urbanism at the LSE and chief adviser on architecture and urbanism for the London 2012 Olympics, leads a discussion responding to imminent and proposed London developments. With a panel including Design for London Director Peter Bishop, and Graham Stirk (Rogers Stirk Habour + Partners) this will be an informative debate about the architectural development of the capital city

Toby Paterson
Powder Blue Orthogonal Pavilion

Free with Design Museum entry, booking required.
Glasgow based and Becks Futures award winning artist Toby Paterson is one of the contributors to the Portavilion project with his structure ‘Powder Blue Orthogonal Pavilion’ in situ at Potters Fields (next to Tower Bridge) this summer. In this presentation, he will be discussing the influences and motivation behind his work which spans the distances between art, design and architecture.

Taking the Portavilion project as a starting point this one day symposium addresses the relationship between public art and public space from the practical and curatorial delivery of specific projects to the social and environmental value that public art can create.

Parked Art is produced by UP Projects in partnership with the Design Museum and The Art of Common Space, a Gunpowder Park project. It is hosted by the London Parks and Green Spaces Forum at the Design Museum.
