PRIMARY CPD - TEACHING WITH OBJECTS

Conference and workshop day for Primary Art, Design & Technology Coordinators

Handling collections of everyday objects offer rich resources to stimulate children's understanding of design, develop core thinking and learning skills, and support cross-curricular learning in the classroom. This one day course takes teachers through relevant research and offers a mix of practical workshops from specialist design educators and peer-led sessions, focusing on curating simple handling collections with children and using them effectively to support learning.

HOW TO TEACH DESIGN REALLY WELL

Our highly acclaimed 3 day course takes teachers through a range of stimulating and creative approaches to teaching design effectively. The course includes a visit and research opportunity at a leading UK design studio, arranged to suit the curriculum specialisms of participating teachers. This year’s course will focus on practical strategies to support the new Key Stage 3 curriculum.

INSET
Arranged to suit the CPD priorities of individual primary and secondary schools, Design Museum INSET days, half days and twilight sessions include exhibition tours, practical workshops, access to teaching materials and D&T curriculum focus sessions.
