Pop Goes Design
Inspired by the whirling psychedelic world of ‘graphic entertainer’ Alan Aldridge, we invite budding illustrators to join us in creating a large, collaborative, illustrated installation where ANYTHING can happen.
Taking a journey across the Design Museum Space drawings will travel from one piece of paper to another, in different and imaginative ways. People, creatures and objects that you create will fly over bridges, up and down mountains, through buildings and into outer-space. 2D will merge with 3D and transform a bare sky blue room into a strange and exciting illustrated world. What’s more, a team of professional illustrators will be on hand to demonstrate a range of drawing, collage and simple 3D paper construction techniques.
Come with us on a weird and wonderful Paper Walk. You never know where you might end up!
These special illustration workshops are part of the Big Draw, The Campaign for Drawing’s annual month of nationwide drawing events.
“… the workshop was a whole different experience from other workshops we’ve been to as it was led by industry experts and they really inspired my daughter to experiment and stretch herself. The materials were really high quality - the only thing was I wanted to participate too!”
