Fondaco dei Tedeschi, Venice

The sixteenth-century Fondaco dei Tedeschi, right by the Rialto Bridge on the Grand Canal in Venice, was originally a German trading post. Over a period of eight years the building has been carefully restored and altered to create a department store for tourists and locals alike.
